 In our community we are not only receiving tourists, but also volunteers. We are always working in some kind of project for the welfare of our community, and therefore we need volunteers who might help us in our development.

 The volunteer get to live with a family in the community during his or her stay - or with several families, depending on the length of the stay. He or she lives, eats, hunts, fishes, works and everything else there is to do with this family. Therefore everything is not just about work, it is also an exchange of knowledge, traditions and culture.

 The primary tasks of the volunteer is to teach english, function as a translator, and help us in our various productive projects.

 We require the volunteer to stay in the community for at least 30 days, but there is no limit as to how long he or she might stay. This is for us to get to know the person and for the person to become a part of our community and our huge Shiwiar family.

Price

$15 per person per day

 This money is for us to ensure the volunteer alimentation during the stay, and for materials for our projects.

In order to enter the community one has to take a flight from the airport of the city Shell, 9 km from the city of Puyo, Pastaza. The flights takes 1 hour and 20 minutes and costs between $500-700 depending on the number of passengers.

 En nuestra comunidad no sólo recibimos turistas, sino también voluntarios y voluntarias. Siempre estamos trabajando en algun proyecto para el bienestar de nuestra comunidad, y por eso necesitamos voluntarios o voluntarias para que puedan ayudarnos a desarrollar más.

 El voluntario o voluntaria vive con una de las familias de la comunidad durante su estancia - o varias, depende en la duración de su estancia. Vive, come, caza, pesca, trabaja y todo que hay que hacer con esta familia. Por eso todo no sólo es trabajo, sino también un intercambio de conocimiento, tradiciones y cultura.

 Los primarios trabajos del voluntario o de la voluntaria es enseñar inglés, funcionar como traductor, y ayudar y elaborar nuestros proyectos productivos.

 Requerimos que el voluntario o la voluntaria se queda en la comunidad al mínimo de 30 días, pero no hay un límite de cuanto tiempo puede quedarse. Éste es para que nosotros podemos conocer la persona y para la persona puede volverse en una parte de nuestra comunidad y nuestra gran familia Shiwiar.

Precio

$15 por persona por día
